SWEP moves operations in Tentlingen, Switzerland to Košice, Slovakia and Landskrona, Sweden

SWEP is one of the world’s leading suppliers of brazed plate heat exchangers (BPHEs) with a global footprint. SWEP is reviewing its manufacturing operations in Europe to ensure they are aligned to the company’s long-term strategy.

SWEP’s current supply structure in Europe consists of three plants: Košice in Slovakia, Landskrona in Sweden, and Tentlingen in Switzerland. Tentlingen currently has 37 employees.

On November 2, 2016, SWEP announced to the workforce in Tentlingen that the company’s management is evaluating reorganization measures to increase manufacturing efficiency in Europe by consolidating production to Košice and Landskrona. A consultation process with the employees was then initiated.

After assessing the outcome of the consultation process, SWEP has decided on November 23, 2016 to consolidate the production to Košice and Landskrona and close its operation in Tentlingen. The transfer of the operation is expected to be finalized by the first quarter of 2017.

All 37 employees at Tentlingen will be affected by this restructuring. Some will be offered work elsewhere in SWEP or another affiliated company.

SWEP will offer the employees a social plan that will aid  the transition to a new job by means of an extended notice period, and outplacement support.

The change means that SWEP will make several new recruitments both in Košice and Landskrona.
